Some of my friend and I are planning on getting on a plane and flying out to the middle of no where. That middle of no where will be Alaska. I did this once with my family when I was a tyke and the only thing I remember is the fishing for sockeye salmon.
As of now, the guys are thinking a bed and breakfest and fishing everyday. Estimation cost: 2,500 dollars per person. I don't know about them, but that is going to be really expensive in my pocket book. I am pretty sure I could do it for less.
So I was wondering if you guys could help me out here. When I went many summers ago we rented an RV and that was the way to go. You could sleep right on the river and be fishing right when you wake up. So I was thinking if we got a RV for 3,000 dollars for 2 weeks(EST price) it would only cost us 1,000 dollars each and be a heck of a lot cheaper then 2,500 dollars. If we got 4 people to go it would be even cheaper.
So my question to you guys is do you know where I can start out. Anyone have a good recomendation for RV;s? When would be the best time to visit ak to fish the most species possible in fresh water. I want to do as much as I can because I probably won't beable to make a trip like this for the next 30 years because hopefully I will have a family and a house within the next 10 years.
Also, I would like to do a Halibut charter if possible. Anyone know of a good one.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give :s_thumbup
