I didn't have real high expectations for the hunt today but we had been seeing a few geese lately in this field,,,none yesterday but the day before maybe 60 geese were in it. With the nasty weather on Thursday,,,gale force winds and near zero temps the geese didn't move much while I was scouting yesterday. The first flock I seen was quite a ways off and slippen to the left but I thought maybe the wind was pushing them a bit and still might come to us,,,but they never showed. I thought,,,man they are all going to go to another field. About a 1/2 hour later the 1st flock showed up to our field and didn't want to play much,,,the locked up then flew a bit,,,locked up and flew some more,,,then slid off the left side and left behind us. My confidence level was sinking,,,,but shortly after that we had more geese and they were workers,,,,that continued for over an hour I guess or more,,,,We ended up with a 4 man limit of 20 geese and for the first time this year 2 had bands,,,,Paul and Ron were happy to take the banded geese,,,imagine that
This might of been the best hunt to date as far as working geese. What a day!!!!
