Mixed Bag: Yote's and Geese

How's this for a mixed Bag, Call the 2 Coyote's in about 10 minutes apart at day light, then ended the morning with a 3 man limit of Geese,( Didn't have a Digital in the field so your only seeing My geese and the Yote's taken at the house)

Ducks and Global Warming

Hi. I'm with the National Wildlife Federation and was wondering if anybody had seen the article "Global warming threat to waterfowl" by Bob Marshall:

It talks about a report we've just released about what higher temperatures from global warming may do to prime duck habitat. I'm curious...

My buddy got a Jack Miner band

We hunted a marsh in Jackson County and my hunting partner got a Jack Miner band on a hen mallard. We also took a first year hunter Ricky and he got a hen mallard. His 3rd duck this season. I got a pair of woodies. It was not a big kill but with Ricky scoring and the Jack Miner band, it was a memorable hunt. This is the first Jack Miner band we have ever seen around here. The inscription on the band read: Do not be afraid; only believe Mark 5:36

waiting for todays clients. Spent a lot of miles finding them but it was worth it. 2 shy of a 5 man limit.

We had another good day hunting geese today. We had 12 geese for the photo with one of the guys getting his truck for a total of 5 hunters, when one of the hunters had to leave and shot 5 more after he left for a total of 17 today. Finally didn't have to freeze our butt's off to get a few geese.

Blue sky's, temps in the sindle digits, who would have figured. I would have been happy with a couple, figured under the conditions that would be a great day, but we did a little better then that. I guess that's why we play the game,,,you never know.

Late season goose hunting in Michigan

We had a good time today but definatly should have done better. The problem was very little wind. We had geese trying to land from all different directions,,,,a bunch behind us,,,,some on each side. At one time we had several hundred birds flying or landing all around us. I guess it's better then a stick in the eye.

First off congrats to those that had good hunts, it sure wasn't good conditions for it at least on Saturday morning. And for those that didn't do so well,,,I can relate. One thing I stress especially on an opener is you can't control the weather and of course other hunters. Lone Snow Goose

Man I was soooooooooooooo happy that the lakes iced up last night. In one night down here we had no less then an inch of ice. The birds now have a refuge and can't be molested unless someone want a 50/50 chance of death to themselves. I can just imagine how many hunters came to the local launches around the state and then went to breakfast. The geese have yet to go to...

Seen a 2 huge flocks of snow geese flying southwest a mile high. Looks like the Mallards and other ducks are starting to show too,,,right on Q....Time to go wack a few hunters. Migrators are as dumb as rocks and very easy for the first couple days. Good luck

Secondwind and I got out duck hunting yesterday and today. We doubled up on a banded drake yesterday. It was slow after that and we had a couple should have shots but didn't. Today we hunted a different spot and had a good morning. We each got a pair of drake woodies and John got a bonus black duck. Here are the pics.
