It looks like we have some good fishing with some Kings and Steelhead along with the Lake Trout now. Great to see. the Lake is in a transistion until the forage base rebounds or whatever it's going to do,, we need to adapt to new things.

There will be folks fishing through most of October but to book trips it is hard because of predominatly strong west winds. I still have trips trough Sept.

It was a great year for fishing, here's to 2008.

I'm at the lake and have very little access to a computer. Has anyone been fishing lately? Fishing out of St. Joe has been good one day and slow the next.

Im currently looking for nominations for my websites Featured Sports Person page. If you know someone that deserves recognition for teaching, volunteering etc. or a youth that harvested his or her first wild game etc. please send it to me. I will ask that you supply pictures, stories etc. about them for the page too. Or point me to someone that can. I would like this to be a surprise to the person, so please dont tell them. I know there are plenty of people that deserve to be recognized...

finally got out sat. morn.lake was perfect and conditions ideal but there was only one problem.we couldnt get the fish to bite.we put one nice steelie in the box in 2 hours of fishin.marked lots of fish from 50 to 80 feet of water.didnt really see a whole lot of fish caught either.oh well it was great being on the water and well be there thru 4th of july and then some,fishfinder

Lake Erie

Lake Erie has been hot this month. There is a huge year class of fish just getting legal with enough bigger fish up to 21 inches to help the box. We have pulled limits the last 6 times off the dock. Our last trip was Sunday and we had 20 by 10:20. It has been a combination of hot'n'tots and warts off the boards and stinger scorpion spoons off riggers and divers. We fished 22-25 feet of water off Stoney Point last Sunday. Good luck!

Fished out of St.Ignace on 6/10/06, Launched at the Coast Guard Launch( Not recommened at this stazge of the game anymore, they do not have the center dock in) Things started BAD..0600 Stepped out of the truck, Rolled my ankle, And after recovering from doing my best Lake Trout in a cooler imtation, got the boat off the trailer and headed for the east side of Mac. Island. Picked our first fish up(about a 25 in Laker) about 0830 on the NE side of the island on a Mag, Ultra Glow, Fishlander...

The fishign in St Joe has picked up with Skamania Steelhead showing up. they been here about a week. Big fish too, up to 20 pounds

I am looking to make a visit to Chicago and I want to get some fishing in. I prefer to do some walleye or smallmouth fishing since I can't get on any of these fish where I fish here in Texas. Can ya'llb tell me a good guide around Chicago I could go out with?

We finally got out on the big lake and the fishing was awsome.

On 5/4 we went 13 for 21 with a mixed bag of Lakers ,Coho and Kings .
The 5th we went 11 for 16 , Kings and Coho.

Went out again on the 9th . The buddy Luke and I know in Muskegon met us there and unlike Luke's luck with him on board we lit the rods up . Ended up 14 for 16. My best catch rate ever .
Kings and coho .
On the 10th we went 9 for 14 , all Kings .

Fish came from 80 to 220 FOW . Most fish...

ST. JOE 5/6-7

What an awesome weekend! Saturday the action was hot from 115 to 170 fow with by far the bumble bee free slider on riggers at 75 down. ended up with 12 kings and 3 coho for 19 hits by 12 noon. Sunday was a little different for me good east wind was blowing 3 footers and the fishing was a little slower. One fish in 165 fow then about 11 am we finally found some more in 178 fow half core with mag ludington melon and black spoons on riggers 75 down and free slider. pulled at 11:30 am with 5 for...

How has the new fishing season been for you? Sounds like everyone has been out in 100'+ water. Seems way too early for deep water.

Ohio Eyes

Better late than never .
July 8 - 9
Fished out of Geneva / Ashtabula over the weekend and had a good time . Boxed 14 Eyes Fr and 12 Sat with 2 Steel each day . Eyes averaged 4 lb with 4 going 7 plus . Steelhead were in the 4 lb range .
Those "Ohio "Eyes are nice
Pulled Ripsticks ( cheap sunglasses , Cooper with black and orange ) on wire ( 300 ft ) of big boards and divers with spoons and harneses with Gulp for attractor .
Catching was fun and eating is great...
